Free IT job application tracker

Stop sending applications into the dark

An IT job application tracker that works out your reply rate, tells you which sites and which resumes are working, fills in your follow-up dates, and has the call and email scripts ready to go.

I applied for more than sixty IT jobs. Then I stopped counting. Most of them never replied.

I sent the same resume to every one, only applied through Seek and LinkedIn, never followed up once, and tracked nothing. So I couldn’t tell you which site replied more, or whether the ones I’d tidied up did any better. I was guessing.

This is the tracker I wish I’d kept. Log each application in about thirty seconds, and after twenty of them you’ll know what’s working instead of guessing.

What’s in it

  • Applications tab: one row per job, with drop-downs for source, level, status and tailored yes/no. Rows colour themselves as replies come in.
  • Automatic follow-up dates: closing date plus seven days, or ten days after you applied. Overdue ones light up.
  • Stats tab: sent, replies and reply rate, split by source, by level, and tailored vs not. The numbers that tell you what to change.
  • Templates tab: the before-you-apply call script and the follow-up email from the video, plus a thank-you email for after the interview, selection-criteria and cover-letter frames, and a LinkedIn headline formula. Gaps marked.
  • Weekly routine: the nine fixes as one week, three to four hours.

Free. One email to confirm, one with the tracker. Unsubscribe whenever, no hard feelings.

Already grabbed the resume template or the interview cheat sheet? You’re on the same list. You won’t get double emails, just the tracker. I’ll also send the odd email when I put out something worth your time: lab builds, career stuff, the things I got wrong. That’s it.
